India Presetation Poster Design

I was assigned to create a poster design for the "India Presentation" taking place at PDI/DreamWorks this coming Friday. The main focus of the poster was to show the HUMAN side (the people) of things that occurs at DreamWorks in India. I really enjoyed the dusty India colors and the incorporation of the film strips in the design to emphasize the entertainment industry.

Storyboard Class Weekly 9 Panel Assignment. Our professor creates the first panel and we are to come up with a story based off that first drawing. My story focus on a little boy Timmy, who enjoys the ribbon on the present box instead of the actual present. Until.....his mother opens the present and reveals its a whole box of ribbons for him to play with.

Barron Storey has an assignment in his class where you are to create characters, a story, build a set and a final illustration. These characters were supposed to represent insecurities from your own personal life. This assignment was very exciting and really made me think out of the box. I was involved every step of the way!

Setting: Run down "freak" circus city.

Characters (shown below): Element character Water (represents love, caring), Wanderer (Dwarf - who lives in the forest, does not have any friends, anti-social), Gazelle (Animal creature - who is half human half animal, always gets preyed upon).

Here are some rough character poses and expressions for my final 30 second animated film. These were created for a school assignment in SJSU's 115 animation course (Spring 2008)

My film revolves around the idea of a little girl at the beach who battles the ocean. She is determined to beat the ocean and build a sand castle near the ocean's edge. However, the conflict is when the ocean keeps washing her sand castle away. She tries to out-smart the ocean by building a wall in front of her cherished sand castle. Unfortunately, in her triumph over the ocean, she jumps around so excited not watching her feet stomp all over her sand castled *cries*

Character Personality: Spunky, Hard-headed, Determined, Driven, Aggressive, Spoiled, Loud.

Object Painting from Desert Environment

* I never knew how difficult painting a rock would be. I looked up tuturiols online to try and get some help and only found one -- thank goodness there was one. *wipes brow* The varieties of color and little speckles of light that hits the edges of rocks is very difficult to paint efficiently. This painting is to help me with my final environment painting for a dersert composition I will be creating later in the semester

These were some tree studies. I shocked to hard drawing trees are. There are so many techniques that you have to learn to able to draw trees correctly. I need to practice more for sure.

That's right it's my first post here on my new blog. Still a newbie when using the blogspot, but I am sure I will get the hang of it soon. Steph has been trying to get me to make a blog forever and look I finally went through with it.

My main goal in making this blog is to hopefully push me to produce more and more artwork. Below I have included some of my older sketches from random sketchbooks.... I need to get back into the grove of sketching constantly. Since 113A started I am way lacking in this category. *sighs*
